What Is the Longines League of Nations™?
The Longines League of Nations™ is one of the most revered events in international show jumping. As the premier team competition in show jumping, it gathers the best riders and horses from all over the world to compete in national teams representing their home countries. With a history dating back to the 1900s, the Nations Cup has evolved into a true celebration of elite international show jumping, highlighting not just individual talent, but the power of teamwork and collaboration.
Each year, the Nations Cup series includes multiple legs around the world. The top 10 country teams in the world (determined by Longines Rankings) compete in four qualifying events – the Ocala stop is the second leg. The event is a two-round format, with all teams competing in the qualifying round 1, with the top 3 (of 4) scores for each team counting. The top 8 teams return in reverse qualifying order for the final round. This time, each team fields 3 horse and rider combos, with no drop score. This format is sure to deliver plenty of crowd gasps and held breaths!
